Jillian was bred and raised here at Westwood Farms. She was a favorite from birth and she knew it. Gavin taught her to "give kisses" and Jillian quickly learned that she could get attention by offering kisses, so it became her big thing. To this day, she demands attention, but not in an overpowering way.
Her dam, Gen's Executive Lady, is a true 16 hand chestnut roan mare with incredible talent. She has a show-stopping way of going: she picks her legs up, reaches waaay out and just glides along. Her awesome way of going earned her numerous ribbons during her show career and TWO World Champion titles at the 2003 RHBAA National Celebration: Ladies Country Pleasure and Youth Country Pleasure. Below are pictures of her during different seasons and in different divisions (roans change dramatically):
Jillian is beautiful with her rich butterscotch color and fine features, but she's not just another pretty girl. Jillian is highly intelligent and independent. The learning curb for this mare is unreal. She is like her sire in her almost human ability to reason and react (with a bit of her mother's "silly filly" thrown in at times.) She loves praise and accolades and is willing to work for them. The more you praise her, the harder she tries to please you.
Jillian is a graceful, feminine mare with a tremendous way of going. We sent Jillian to Brandy Williams to be started for trails. Brandy did a wonderful job starting her and giving her trail experience. We were thrilled with the way she moved naturally with no real gait conditioning. She just picks her legs up and rolls out of her shoulders so beautifully. We believe that she has the style and pizzaz to make her a Racking Champion, like her dam (Gen's Executive Lady, 2x WC Racking Horse).
Congratulations to Diance Lacy on her purchase of Jillian! She also owns Jillian's full sister, Gambler's Jazz Lady WF.
