on Bonnie Blue My name is Gambling On Bonnie Blue! It has been said that I am a miracle filly and that I was sent here to heal my Nana ET's broken heart. You see, she lost her beloved Eb's Sunbeam a/k/a Miss Scarlet O'Hara 11 months before I was born. Miss Scarlet took ill and in 4 days it was discovered she had cancer throughout her abdomen and so she was laid to rest at 17 years of age. ET was just devastated, as was Scarlet's pasture mate, Portrait of a Lady a/k/a The Mama Horse. My mare-mom lived on the farm where Miss Scarlet was purchased, Westwood Farms in Locust Dale, Virginia. My Nana ET went to Westwood Farms to meet and pick up Miss Scarlet's only living son, Gambler's Gold Threat WF (Sonny Boy). Sonny's owner was bringing him down from Pennsylvania. Nana ET thought the hole in her heart would heal now that she had found Miss Scarlet's son and was able to purchase him. While Nana ET & Grandpa Dan were at WF, they met my mare-mom, Gambling on Faith WF (Faithy-Lou). Well, Faithy-Lou cast a spell on them and they fell head over heels in love with her, despite her injured knee. They took both Sonny and Faithy-Lou home to live with them. During the summer, my maremom's udder grew but everyone said it was probably hormones and not to worry. Mare-mom hid me pretty well in her tummy and never looked pregnant. In fact, she was ridden right up until 2 days before I was born! She was even shown all summer in the local county horse show by Nana ET's good friend. I was ready getting ready to come out and Maremom was pretty uncomfortable at the show on the Sunday before I was born, but still no one could sense that my birth was coming! Tuesday, August 5, 2014 Nana brought all three horses to the boarding barn, for a few days while they went to camp. Luckily, the night check was done a little bit later than usual and when Danielle opened the stall door - there I was! She gasped! Calling her boss, she calmly said.... "Um, ....we have a situation"! Both ladies worked tirelessly to help clean me up and filled the stall with more shavings and hay. They called the Vet and my Nana ET. Boy, was Nana ET surprised to hear the news. She kept saying she felt faint when she saw me. I felt so loved! Nana cried and cried, but they were tears of joy. Her heart was so full of love. I knew why I was here. So, why am I being called the miracle filly? I was conceived around the time Miss Scarlet died. I am a palomino filly, with a star, just like Miss Scarlet. Grandpa Dan had no intention of buying a horse for himself, as he wasn't a horse lover, but a husband of a horse lover! But he just fell in love with my mare-mom and bought her! Like the Vet said, "If you don't think this is divine intervention, think again!" God sent me here to heal her broken heart.... and you know what? It's working!
