This filly is a pretty inside as she is out. She'll be a dark gold buckskin with solid black legs, fantastic substance and a gorgeous face...but more importantly than that, she has an absolutely wonderful mind. She came out of womb as friendly and smart as they come. She was talking to us and following us around from the moment she met us. She is exceptionally smart, independent, affectionate and fun. She is the first foal on our farm by Respect This. Her dam is Trav's Little Chrissy RSW, a half sister to Darrahs Handsome Traveler. Trav's Little Chrissy RSW was bred by Rise and Shine Walkers in Kokomo, Indiana. As a filly, she was kicked and her atlas bone was broken, causing her to carry her head at an odd angle. Slightly crooked headset aside, Chrissy is a big boned, beautiful western and foundation bred mare. She has tremendous bone and substance. She is homozygous for both cream and the agouti, meaning that bred to any bay, black or chestnut, the resulting for will be GUARANTEED GOLD. Her sire is a half brother to our Golden Gambler through Blue Gold. His dam is a western bred mare who comes from the Tate's Traveler / Montana Traveler lines. Her dam, Golden Cream Bird, is a middle Tennessee foundation bred double agouti cremello mare. She is directly by The Last Gold Chance, by Gold on Parade by Cream Chance (by John A's Chance). She has two lines to Golden Promenader and one line to Society Man. Respect This ("Turbo") comes from several generations of gentle black giants. His sire, grandsire and great grandsire were all extra large black stallions with excellent bone and a UNCOMMON build. Most of the time very large horses lose their "crook" as they grow and get too straight up in the backend, making them stiffer and more out behind themselves naturally. A horse who is built out behind himself has a hard time collecting underneath himself and striding naturally. This family of horses is very strong genetically for their unique build - they're built underneath themselves with a dropped hip, crooked hock and shorter lower leg than upper. The shorter lower leg has a way of allowing the whole limb to move forward more freely than having the reverse (think of the action of a fulcrum.) Turbo also has a fanastic shoulder and neck and a beautiful head with a flat profile, prominent jaw, large eyes, broad forehead, tapered muzzle and fluted nostrils. Beauty is as beauty does, and we are very particular about disposition. The most perfectly built, best moving horse in the world would be useless to us without the mind and disposition to go along with it. Turbo also has a kind, gentle disposition. He loves people, and comes running when he sees us (a testament to both his nature and the care he has received in his lifetime.) He'll stand perfectly still for as long as I'll stand and groom him. He is intelligent and observant, but not reactive. He seems to have a desire to please and professional work ethic. Congratulations to Dusty Holcomb of West Virginia on selecting this big, beautiful filly. She will join another of our babies, Handsome's Constantly Sassy, owned by Dusty's wife, Kimmy.
