McCurdy's
Excalibur is a stocky, well built mare with a gorgeous, feminine
face. She has a fabulous disposition and loves people.
Not only
is she a proven producer, she is a delightful riding horse. She
has a smooth, four beat saddle gait and sweet canter. She is
brave, bold and loves to hit the trails. I tell people Callie is mine, or maybe more accurately, I am hers. In the field, she believes that I am "HER" human and she's always first in line for attention and affection. She whinnies and talks to me like we're the best of friends. She's also my enforcer. I was teaching another mare's colt to lead in the pasture, and that mare dared to pin her ears while walking with me. My Callie girl left her own filly at the hay wagon and came flying to my side and explained in no uncertain terms that I was HER person and "how DARE she." She escorted me while I worked the colt for the rest of the lesson and made his mother stay 20' away with just a look. Once, Callie's filly managed to get herself stuck underneath of the hay feeder. As soon as I came home, Callie came screaming to the fence to meet me and made the biggest scene. As soon as I walked to her, she started pushing me to where her filly was, while nickering to me. I grabbed the filly's feet and pulled her back out so she could stand up properly and Callie rubbed her head on me and nuzzled me while making such a fuss you would've thought I had single handedly saved the nation. Callie stands 15h with the presence of a 16h horse. She's a tank, but has the prettiest head and ears I think I've ever seen on a horse. She's just gorgeous inside and out. She loves my kids and she's a great mother herself.
