We believe that only truly exceptional stallions should be used in breeding. Just because a stallion has not been gelded, does not mean that he should be a breeding stallion. A breeding stallion should possess excellent conformation, 100% natural gaits, intelligence, a gentle disposition, freedom from vices, and true beauty. We are proud to present our own breeding stallion who possesses all of those fine qualities and many more:
*Why do we specify this?
It's not that we don't like these lines. We do, in fact.
So much so, that many of our mares carry these lines. However,
like ALL purebred breeds, walking horses
have been linebred in order to solidify certain traits (in their
case, gait.) While you increase the likelihood of the gait being
bred in, you can also increase the likelihood of genetic defects
showing up and a certain amount of genetic variation is actually
desirable. (Think European Royal families...they have...issues.)
You create healthier horses with stronger more robust immune
systems by utilizing family lines that aren't so closely related.
Hence our notes. So if you have a mare who has a LOT of Pride's
Generator breeding and you're looking for an outcross - Gambler
and Handsome fit the bill. If you have a whole lot of Jose
breeding in your mare, all four of our boys give you a nice
outcross. And so on.
