We
have been watching this handsome young stallion since he was a youngster.
He was bred by Through the Pines Walking Horses in Thomasville, Georgia
and was purchased by Walkers on Water as a foal. He is now owned by
Erica Robertson Reinoehl of
Twisted Pine Tennessee Walking Horses in Deer Pine, Washington.
He is everything we would want to see in a walking horse - fantastic
mind, smooth natural gait, kind, and intelligent. We have selected him
to outcross with our full sisters of
The Tennessee Stud
WF in 2026. We are hoping for fillies to keep in our program.
His sire is the fabulous field
trial sire, Little John Lester,
that we met in Thomasville, Georgia at Ashlynn Williams' Through The
Pines Walking Horses. Little John is exactly the kind of horse
that the founders of the walking horse breed envisioned: solid mind,
kind disposition, supurbly athletic, and smooth gaited. He's Ashlynn's
heart horse and spends his summers out west riding in the mountains,
fall/winter in the South Georgia quail woods and field trials, and spring/summer
out with his mares. Little John is McCurdy bred through his sire,
McCurdy's Roan Lightning.
An interesting note about his pedigree is the presence of double
Shaker's Shocker
breeding on the bottom. That really crossed well with the McCurdy lines.
His dam is a blue roan mare by
the 16h blue roan tobiano stallion, Stuntman's Bleau Magic, a son of
Evil's Stuntman bred
by Jeff Smith of Horseshoe Hollow Farm in Kentucky. Stuntman was a prolific
sire of spotted field trial and trail horses.
