Reference: Fireball's Mountain Maid


Fireball's Mountain Maid was the cornerstone of Elsie Darrah's Last Chance Farm breeding program. This matriarch produced 14 foals for Elsie during her illustrious breeding career. Elsie's elite group of mares represented many years of breeding and selection to get the type of mares that would produce exceptional foals that display the characteristics of original TWH breed standards. These mares produced foals with a natural head nodding running walk. They were versatile enough to meet the challenges for the many riding disciplines in show, pleasure, working and sporting events. 

"Maggie" as she was called, was a tall, big boned mare with a stoic disposition. She was homozygous for both black and agouti. After Elsie's retirement, Maggie spent the rest of her life at Good as it Gaits in Texas.

Her 16.3h son by Royal Ivory stood at Sandy Oaks Ranch in Kansas.
