"Roo" was bred by David and Beth Lamb. When she was a baby she had such long legs that she looked like a little kangaroo when she was lying down, hence the nickname "Roo." Roo's dam was David and Beth's good plantation pleasure show mare, Special Effects Direct, a daughter of Ebony's Director by Ebony Masterpiece. Her dam was by a son of Pride of Midnight H.F. Special Effects Direct only produced two fillies before she passed in 2018, one of which is the very talented show mare, Special Effects Reveal ("Iris"). Iris has a very special place in our hearts, as Beth very generously allowed us to use her in the leadline class for Grace's very first show at Camden in 2022 and then again at the Pine Rock Show. Iris was so incredibly patient with Grace and adjusted her big, naturally sweeping strides into such careful, gentle steps for her little rider that she absolutely stole our hearts. I asked Mikal, her trainer, whether they'd consider parting with her and learned that she was absolutely dear to their hearts and they couldn't. However, they made us the most incredible offer and made a lifetime dream of mine come true when they offered Roo. I've ALWAYS wanted to own an Allen All Around baby. Ever since I first saw him walking and shaking his way around the arena at the Virginia Horse Center, he's been a favorite of mine. He has the most dramatic and true transition from a flatwalk to a running walk out there. I can almost guarantee that every one of my favorite moving horses at any NC show is a direct AAA baby. Roo is a stocky, solid boned 15.2 hand mare with a mind as solid as her frame. Roo had her first foal in 2024 by The Tennessee Stud: a buckskin colt.
