Jarred frequently gets questions as to which products he likes to use. This section is a quick reference for our customers. We don't guarantee anything, but we like these and wanted to make it easy for our clients to find these products.

Bringing Home Baby:

• ADM Gro-Strong Minerals - we feed them free choice. Check with your local co-op to see if they carry them. You can also call ADM to see if there is a retailer nearby. If not, Chewy and Amazon carry them, but it can be more expensive that way.

• Free choice salt - fed seperately from the minerals so that they can choose whether they want salt OR minerals.

• Growth feed - I prefer extruded feeds over the sweet feed style and I like to find grain with pro and prebiotics included for gut health. Kent Blue Seal Sentinel Safe Start is a good example.

• GOOD FORAGE IS IMPORANT. You don't have to worry about fescue free hay for babies (that is only a worry for broodmares at the end of gestation.) What you want is good QUALITY hay. Cut on time and baled dry. Not full of weeds. We supplement with alfalfa, but they get primarily good pasture and good mixed grass hay.

Training Devices:

• Clinician Halter and Lead by Andrea Equine. Great quality and feel like other, more expensive clinician's halters. If you mention you were referred by us, we get a discount on our next order (I'm just saying...)

• Tough 1 Comfort Gait Shanked Bit - more control, good for horses who fuss with the bit.

• French Link Full Cheek Snaffle

• Zilco Flower Hackamore - if you must go bitless, please don't use a Dr. Cook's on a gaited horse. It encourages the horse to lift the head to avoid the pressure creating a hollow back and pacey gait. This hackamore or a plain rope halter is a much better option.

Saddle Pads:

• Correct Fit Saddle Pad - great for gaited horses with "A" shaped withers. We wish it was contoured though.

Saddles:

• Tucker Endurance - Jarred rides in an older Tucker Endurance (2004 medium tree, endurance model #159 16.5 " seat. serial # 04 159 6 *** M ). You can find them used online for less than retail. Try these facebook groups: Used Tucker Saddles & Used Tucker Saddles #2.

• Phelix Custom Saddlery - amazing custom handmade saddles made by my cousin, Charlotte Phelix and her husband, Tim Phelix, in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

• Gut X - This is AMAZING for ulcers and horses who are prone to stomach issues

• We HIGHLY recommend the Montreal or Trooper style breastcollar for gaited horses. We have Tucker Montreal Breastcollars, but found a most cost-conscious alterative at Olen Clark Custom Saddlery.
